Formalizing the Unorganized Sector
LSNP is committed to take care of the workers from the unorganized sectors in the states and the country. Unorganized workers often lack job security, social protection and access to basic benefits. To fulfil this commitment, LSNP intends to implement the following measures.
Identification and Data Collection: The workers in the unorganized sectors need to be identified and data collected about their demographics.
Skill Development and Training: Provide skill development and training programs to enhance the employability of workers in the unorganized sectors.
Social Security Measures: Implement social security measures such as insurance, health benefits, and pension schemes to provide a safety net for workers in the unorganized sectors.
Financial Inclusion: Promote financial inclusion by encouraging workers to open bank accounts and access formal credit systems.
Promote Self-Employment and Entrepreneurship: Encourage and support workers to become self-employed or start their own small businesses.
Labor Rights and Regulations: Strengthen labor laws and regulations to protect the rights of workers in the unorganized sectors. Ensure fair wages, working conditions, and provisions for grievance redressal.
Public Awareness Campaigns: Conduct public awareness campaigns to inform workers about their rights and benefits under various government schemes.
Public-Private Partnerships: Encourage collaboration between the government, private sector, and civil society organizations to develop sustainable solutions for integrating workers in the unorganized sectors.
Vocational Training Centers and Employment Exchanges: Establish vocational training centers and employment exchanges to bridge the gap between job seekers and employers.
Microfinance and Microenterprise Support: Support microfinance institutions and microenterprises that can cater to the financial needs of workers in the unorganized sectors.
